GO GERONIMO's

Ride Registry

(The Reg)

NOTE: The Reg is no longer operational. We've left this info on the website in the hope of inspiring other communities.

Registered members can get safe and convenient rides without pre-arrangement simply by waiting at designated GO GERONIMO stops on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard, the one road in and out of our semi-rural community in Marin County, California.

Fairfax and Drake High School stops not on map. See list below of stops.

Registered drivers can pick up riders while making their normal trips - nothing is arranged in advance. Both drivers and riders have photo ID laminates, and all adults who are registered with the program must pass a background check by the Marin County Sheriff's Department. As of August 1999 there were 400 people registered with the GO GERONIMO Reg -- 125 riders and 275 drivers.

This is what our laminates look like:

It's easy (and fun) to use the GO GERONIMO Reg to get a ride. Simply:

2 Kids waiting for rides1. Display your laminate at a designated stop until a car pulls over.

2. Check driver's GO GERONIMO Reg number.

3. Ask where the driver is going, and declare your destination.

Remember, there is never an obligation to give or receive a ride!
